Where this technique sits among the others There are four hair-stroke techniques, ordered from the oldest to the most natural-looking: microblading (a manual blade — the classic technique), then nano blading (the same principle with a finer needle), then micropigmentation (newer than both, and closer to natural), and finally the fiber technique (the most natural-looking of them all). The price follows that order: JOD 180, then 180, then 200, then 250. Powder brows sit outside this ladder, because they are dots rather than hair strokes.

How is it different from microblading?

The intended result is the same: hairstrokes. The difference is the tool.

  • Microblading: a blade opens the incision by hand.
  • Nanoblading: a very fine nano needle on a machine deposits pigment point by point until the stroke is built.

Because the needle is finer than a blade, the line is softer, the trauma lighter and healing faster. But its limits are microblading's limits: a fine line is still a fine line, and on oily skin its edges spread.

Who it suits

  • Normal to dry skin with no previous work on the brow.
  • Anyone wanting softer strokes than microblading gives.
  • Anyone uneasy about a blade who prefers a machine.

And who it does not suit

Oily and combination skin, and any brow with previous work. Some claim nanoblading suits it because it is "finer" — it is not true: the fineness is the problem, because a thin line spreads at the edges with oil. Better: powder brows or micropigmentation.

The session and aftercare

  1. Consultation, skin type and any previous work.
  2. Measuring and mapping on your face, and nothing begins before you approve it in the mirror.
  3. Topical numbing, then building the strokes.
  4. Seven days with no water directly on the brow, two weeks with no pool, sea, sauna or hard exercise, and no picking the flakes.

Is nanoblading haram?

Nanoblading follows the same idea as microblading — strokes in the superficial layer that fade within 3 to 9 months — only finer. Dr. Muhammad Dhawi Al-Usaimi said of microblading that it is permissible, with no harm in it, because it is not a permanent tattoo and does not reach the dermis. Watch his answer on YouTube (Arabic). Anyone wanting certainty should ask a scholar she trusts.

Frequently asked

What is the difference between nanoblading and microblading?
The result is the same — hairstrokes — and the difference is the tool. Microblading uses a blade to open the incision by hand; nanoblading builds the same stroke with a nano needle on a machine, giving a softer line and faster healing.
Is nanoblading haram?

Dr. Muhammad Dhawi Al-Usaimi was asked about microblading and said it is permissible, because it is not a permanent tattoo and does not reach the dermis. How much does nanoblading cost in Amman?
180 Jordanian dinars at the Alaa Al Masri studio in Abdoun, Amman, covering the consultation and shape design before we begin.
How long does nanoblading last?
Three to nine months, much like microblading, varying with skin type and sun exposure.
Is nanoblading good for oily skin?
No, and neither does combination skin or any brow carrying previous work. A fine line spreads at the edges with oil exactly as microblading does. Powder brows or micropigmentation suit oily skin better.
